Interesting disco. This is one of the discussion point with one of my friend, whose company is very public on Social. On the other hand, I was very conservative. Finally, I am leaning towards being Social and yet very cautiously. Traditionally, we have training material and we need to train our users and we do so only for the paid customers. We spend a lot of $$$ on this activity. My friend's suggestion was to make them public. Here is my concern: We have some proprietary features (USP) compared to others. Should we open these videos, I am concerned that they may steal our ideas. I dont know how to overcome this. His approach was - You need to be better at your product. If somebody want to steal, they would any way. So, I am stuck on that aspect, but, I am convinced that it would definitely add to your Brand value. So, I would strongly recommend considering at least at a smaller scale to start with and expand as you feel comfortable. | ||

I had an interesting conversation with my company SEE YEE VOO yetsterday, at a dinner party hosted by him. He was sharing some research stats that he obtained on professional growth and social presense (professionally), during the past few years, and he was encouraging us to be an extrovert in social media, and he himself is not very active on social media, but is changing his ways. As a rule, I have avoided being on the social networks(both professionally and personally), as it just did not appeal to me. His words are "Ravi, with the kind of work we are doing, we can create a brand for ourselves out there, it is interesting because it not only helps personal growth, but also brings new interest to the organization". he is almost to the point that he is open to share the ideas we think of in our brainstorming meetings!! as a company's philosophy, i have seen some companies which are vocal about their company, and a few that are very secretive. both seem to be doing good in their own way. meeku eti anipisthundhi, ee vishayam lo.
