But, our coffee spill was on the dining table and it rushed into underneath the macbook. I suspect, when it gushed, it made its way into the macbook through the craks on the backside of the macbook. | ||

They told me that Applecare doesn't cover liquid spills for computers. It only covers this kind of damage on phones. So I would advise against taking the applecare to cover this kind of damages. | ||

if it doesnt work u can also try data retrieve online tech, most of the time they can recover it from damaged harddisks. next time use carbon clone copy(ccc) to backup ur data on regular basis. The HD has TONS (1000's) of pictures and my wife says, we cann't put a price on it. The pictures showed, coffee spill on HD also. We tried RICE technique also, but looks like it was too late. Strangely, the Mac worked after putting it in RICE and we ASSUMED everything is FINE after it worked 1 or 2 days. But, once we turned it off, now it is NOT coming back up. Mav ---------- 750 to repair? Seriously? ---------- Yes. They are going to replace all the damaged parts. But, even when I am ready to spend this amount, they cann't guarantee the DATA, which is the VERY REASON, why I am ready to spend this amount. | ||

meeku okavela data imp anukunte still u have good chances of recovering it. if ur drive is ok,then u can salvage the data,i think. just get an external enclosure and salvage the data. after spilling you must have disassembled and must have cleaned it,appudu pani chesedi leda meeru rice container trick kuda use chesi vundalsindi without further damage. meeru turn on cheyyadaniki try chesi vuntaru which caused additonal shorting of the circuitry. Can you elaborate? ------------ the problem is more complicated. asalu startt avvatleda? -------- Aslau Start kavadam ledu brother. No idea on how to fix it. Apple guy told us to send it to Apple and they will charge flat $750 or something like that to fix this. But they said, they cann't guarantee the HD recovery and stuff will be gone. They also told us, if the repair needs replacing more than 5 parts, they won't repair it and advise us to buy a new one. | ||

entha old ainaa, apple store ki theeskellu, they will test if hard drive is gone or not. usually they can connect another hard drive and re-install your OS, which should take care of the issue. they dont charge for this unless you need a New hard drive. New HD apple vaadi daggara veyinchaku, Amazon or compusa lo order chesko, 500gb less than 100 ki vasthundhi. Manaki Manam Kingu, Choosevallaki Bongu. | ||

Our Macbook Air is NOT booting/powering up. There was small coffee spill that went into the macbook some 10 days back and since then it is not working. This is not even 1 year old and looks like it is gone for good. We need to salvage what ever is on the hard drive and options are looking expensive. Anyone has any helpful ideas? | ||

macbook starting up with grey screen and question mark..........It has Lion OS on it. Google search kodithey Hard drive dead antunnaaru...............mana kharma kaali, DVD drive is not working either...........it scratches the cd/dvd...... dint backup photos and stuff....... its so old, feels like not worth going to Genius bar.......basically kids computer for games......any ideas? |
