Bedar. Sorry to hear about your migraines. I have been also suffering with them. Naa case inka woresht. 24*7 laaga non classical migraine untadi with associated symptoms. Here is what I feel is good advice

Migraine is a response of your brain, to certain stimuli. Its how brain tells you that something is wrong and you need to take rest. Now, it makes it very logical to figure out what triggers one.

Everyone has different triggers. But the most common are food, stress, exhaustion, lack of sleep, strong light, sound, odors and build up of unwanted stuff in life style, low blood sugar etc.

So. First step is figure out what is your trigger. And avoid them - this is the golden rule of migraine prevention. Food aithey avoid cheese, carbonated drinks, chocolate, coffee, preserved meat, nuts, beans, stale food, red wine, alochol etc. Even if some might not be triggers, shut them out all and slowly re-introduce them in your system.

Make sure your bed room atmosphere is very good. Clean sheets, clean fresh air, good pillows, no light and sound. Have a good break fast after you are up. And stick to good routine all 7 days a week. Go to bed and wake up at same time everyday. Late night movies and DB browsing not good.

De-stress your life. Very important. Stress is a build up of unwanted chemicals in the brain and will affect the life and emotions. Try to intorduce things everyday in life that make you happy, Good meal, exercise, friends, sex, movie or whatever appeals to you.

And coming to physical coping - yes Yoda, meditation helps. Best way is to take 25 min brisk walk EVERYDAY. That will help maintain chemical balance in your body to arrest migraines.

Medicines - chettulu kaalinaka aakulu pattukune type. Allopathy lo prevention and alleviating medicines unnayi. I am on a preventive medicine for last 2 years. Did help me, but long term effects ento teliyadu. You can use the alleviating medicines if you are experiencing sporadic events. Homeopathy and avurveda lo the goal is holistic treatment. You can give a shot, but also make sure you incorporate everything I mentioned above.

ee migraine medicine prescribe chesey mundhu oka doctor did complete heart check-up. supposedly, it will affect blood flow through heart or something.

it doesn't prevent migraine, it reduces the impact once migraine is on. Sumatripan is generic for Treximet which was so damn effective than sumatripan but ridiculously expensive.

3 yrs continuos 5pm to 2:30 am shift cheyadam tho istart trouble.. aa scan.. ee scan ani thagalekka money kuda.. later migraine ani fix sesaru.. neurologist.. kodhirojulu baagane undhi.. night shift stop chesi 4 yrs.. usually akali annappudu kuda start ayyedhi.. so eatables handy ga pettukunevadni.. kani since a week sava kodthundhi.. chass.. as many of u suggested..water.. sleep undali.. doctor kuda cure ledu.. just triggers avoid seyyadame annadu.. chass.. karmai..

sometimes i felt like to have some sleeping pills... damn..

BTW .. nenu min 8 hours sleep.. maa buddodu manchi darling.. 9:30pm ki padukuntey 6 ki lesthadu mng..

i dont think i have migraine but here is what happens when i play cricket in summer:
I go early in the morning (most of the times very lite breakfast), during break we will eat just bananas, granola bars etc.. lot of gatorade and water.. spend half day in hot sun.. once the game is done as ritual we go and have couple of beers - then starts the ishtory.. pulsating headache tala tippalenu.. so after couple these episodes without fail - i stopped beer after the game did not come back

avoid long waits at noon times without eating food.
don't go to coffee shops
avoid banana, kova(sweet)

migraine vasthe narakam aa noppi danemma. nenu oka vaanthi chesukoni lights anni thesesi nidra potha. oka 3 hours ki pothundi noppi inka. I used to get in india. ippudu US lo ravatam ledu. vachina eppudo rare. last 8 years lo oka 3, 4 times vachindemo.

entha major ga vasthundho cheppalemu. oka saari engg lo college lo undagaa vachindhi..ekkadoooo oorichivara college, maa illu other end of the city...inka choosukovali...aa pain bharinchalenu, intiki vellakunda undalenu. friend illu, ecil daggara antey vellaanu, okatey vomitings. late avuthundhi ani bayaldheraanu from ecil to miyapur. I had to get down at EVERY STOP in between (i'm not kidding) to throw up then wait for another bus then get down again...

MS lo oka saaari ilaaney vachindhi, naa roomies shock ayipoyaaru, hospital ki teesukuvellaalaa anenthagaa anamaata. ofcourse, MS time lo roju ki one time food, sometimes twice ...lots of walking etc.


once i started working, weekends vachesedhi. inka weekend schedule kooda weekday laaga takkuna poddhunney levadam edho oka office work cheyadam etc. ippatiki cricket aadi vasthey vachesthundhi headache, andukey stopped playing too :-(

okappudu naa team lo pani chesey lady ki overhead light was the trigger.. we had to get the light above her cubicle removed and she got a night lamp kind of thing for her cube which was more ambient for her.. area konchem dark ayyindi but it is better than she taking off from work often with the migraine

Watch for triggers - patterns when it starts- low sugar, dehydration, stress,lack of sleep,diet, hormonal cycles(for women), caffeine
Regulate your routine to avoid those triggers

For the earlier I take a tylenol as it starts the more effective it becomes..of I let it get really bad before taking the tylenol ,it stays on for 48-72 hours..

Pranayama definitely helps reduce intensity but as a preventive not after you get it - bettern not to do something like kapalabhati when you have a headache - anything that increases pressure in the head is not a good idea:-)
