the fact he acknowldged his condition is half cure.. schizos never admit they have problem and that leads to huge problems.. If he spoke abt his condition with his spouse and she understood then cool.. Else it will be stressful and you never know when he will he snap. |

here in us.. last i know he at a place where i have some ex colleagues there as well who ping me... seems to be fine
havent heard any bad news about him..he actually called me once or twice i spoke to him nicely and did not poke about it.. he has been respectful and i reciprocated (i also told him i wont discuss him with anyone else.. i mentioned here as the incident was way back and also i had bunch of desi contractors working with me so he cant be identified |

I knew one dude, he and me were roommates and he kept his life very private, in apartment, he set up a lock to his room and when he leaves he locks his room and he labels every food in refrigerator and in pantry.. he does not have a car, and he rides with me to Silicon valley. He does not talk a bit and he was very quiet. One day, I made fun about him buying a car..next day, He left early..and I thought he took train.. next day, also, he left early..and I asked him on weekend, why he was not riding with me? he said he bought a car.
I noticed a brand new BMW 5 next to my car parking lot, and I asked him.. he said yeah, I bought BMW.. for just one funny comment and he did that!!
2002 I came to know that he subsides and reason unknown. |

An interesting experience about troubled souls (people with mental problems) - this was my first experience that close
around 2005/6 naa team lo oka desi contractor cheradu.. he used to do fine (not exceptional but ok).. he used to report to me.. eppudu headphones pettukoni pani chesevaadu which we are fine as long as he is doing his stuff..
I used to have a habit of saying 'good morning' loudly when i walk in to work.. (I used to be late as I had to deal with offshore teams early in the morning) generally people would respond in different ways giving me a temperature of whats going on.. but everybody would respond as it is a cheery call.. mostly people who have work related issues would rush to catch me at the earliest
one fine day i walk in and say loudly 'good morning'.. everybody responds/murmurs this guy who is nearest to my office is silent with headphones on in his cube.. so i pat him on the shoulder and say 'hey xxx good morning'
he gave me a blank look.. i moved on... after half hour he walks into my office and says 'i have a problem, someone is talking to me in my head, i am hearing voices'.. i told him immediately lets go to emergency and took him to emergency. during the drive i poked him whats going on - he said he is schizophrenic and he hears voices he has been taking medicines felt better and stopped..
when i admitted him in the hospital i told them what i heard from him as he became a little incoherent.. they admitted him and later shifted him to mental health clinic where he was kept for a week.. i reported to my boss what happened
he came back after a week and told me he is on medication now and he is fine, i put him on less stress work for the duration of his contract and when the contract was due for renewal my boss did not renew it..
the guy is decently smart and hard working, i promised to be his referral and remained so till now.. he got married later on and i hope he is on his medicines |

LOL, I too know where you were going. But your deciphering of words was comical to me, especially since my meaning was obvious. Does one person look at each and every single 1B+ Indian and interact on a one-on-one basis? We don't say, I will respect so and so Indian(Telugu, Gujju, Mallu) but I won't respect so and so. My explanation to ease your understanding of what giving mutual respect is not a deviation.
Two opposing politicians in USA will show mutual respect in conduct when they meet.
Of course, as you said, we can both argue and decipher for our purpose. Never ending discussion when you want to play words to suit need. Even the As I said in another thread, the mind is such that a Telugu sexual pervert gets more sympathy than the victim. No one should feel that they live in a rosy world. They don't... but no one should live or encourage a dog eat dog world.

you cant compare the incidents based on numbers as the population is more in india. Acid attacks are not very prominent.(if they are then those are comparable to this CT incident). I am comparing physco incidents where you dont have any idea that this will happen. You dont see this coming. And you cannot do anything to avoid this. This is becuase of the mental situation of these folks. Depression, aloneness, thoughts to become popular by doing something like this. |

Indian is identified by someone belonging to the country. Telugu is identified as a language that I grew up with. What is the problem there?
There are men and women. Everyone is capped under the term of human. Are you going to look up at one and look down at one? I don't... both make up the world.
If I was not aware of the person being a criminal and of the person being Sachin Tendulkar and was introduced to both as just Indians, then where does difference in respecting arise? |

Yes, the frequency is terribly worrisome. Crazy people are everywhere and we can't judge when someone will go over. Can't live life like we were on Minority Report.
In India, these things happen but is hidden or not questioned because the section of people who suffer most are ignored by a large part of society. School children die in the hands of their teachers more frequently than at the hands of gunmen. No gunmen in schools, but there is a Gujarat riot and such.
I don't know what the answer is to reducing these violences. I wish there was some way other than living under a microscope. |

It is impossible to prevent such incidents.. we can only minimize it..
at least US lo planning vuntundi.. for ex. all the Big mall employees are trained in how to handle in such situations.. this is one of the measure to minimize the loss if such unfortunate thing happen. More over cops will be onsite within minutes here..
India lo jaragadu, US lo jargutundi ane discussion waste.. we just need to isolate such personalities.. |

Nancy Lanza, mother of gunman Adam Lanza,was found dead in her Connecticut home. The 20-year-old man, shot her in the face, authorities told ABC News. Following the murder of his mother, Lanza, carrying at least two semi-automatic pistols and an automatic rifle, drove to Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., where his mother worked. There he killed 20 children and six adults.
Lanza was found dead in the school with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The rifle was found in his car, authorities said. |
