It will depend dude. If it is static IP it is easy to trace. If it is dynamic IP the location always alters. If you want the exact location you must know the ISP provider and contact the respective ISP,so that you can get the exact location(address) of the sender.
Based on email only you will track the IP and it will pinpoint you to the location and ISP provider,if you contact ISP provider they will give you the information about that IP address exact location. It's confidential information,so you must have strong reason to get the exact address of the sender. If it is yahoomessenger or facebook you must trace the IP by using some tools or using MAC or pc using netstat command. Best of luck and have a nice day. regards, gamingfan.
