The truth is that MSD does NOT have the skills, the technique, nor the temperament to cope with the rigors of test match cricket. He is a fantastic player for ODI and T20 formats, but certainly not Tests. His test place should rightfully go to Wriddhiman Saha who has a better domestic avg. than MSD, and is, without doubt, the best gloveman in the country. He certainly won't set the field on fire, but then, when has MSD set the field on fire in test matches? Saha appears to be a pesky and gritty character - something we certainly need in the lower middle order. If he fails after a run of ten consecutive tests, either Parthiv or Dinesh Karthik could be handed the role. We need to take a page from England's approach - Matt Prior, who on current form, is the best wicketkeeper-batsman in the world in tests, still struggles to find a place in their ODI and T20 teams. People are questioning his presence in the Test match as a player... he cannot be a non-playing captain..for sooooo long.. no one is questioning his commitment in ODI or T20 or dedication to CSK look at the captains who are leading by example in other teams... agreed some of them are openers (Smith and Cook), so they have a chance to show their batting prowess... | ||
