Brother - I have done my Masters in Delhi / Gurgaon in the late 90s when Gurgaon was a village and later worked and lived there when gurgaon became a Millenium city ( a ghetto). Can you show me more than 5% of the rapes there where the woman is a upper caste and the criminal is a lower caste.(BPO Cab drivers raping an employee is what we read in the national newspapers - because the target audience is shocked and will be interested) More than 95% of the rapes are Upper Caste or some one with power (political cadre, Police man, soldier, Thakur etc etc) raping a lower caste woman. The sad part is a good number of people especially the educated classes are becoming intolerant. Maslow's theory talks of self actualization / self realization AND becoming a more tolerant person willing to listen to others, empathizing with others is not the only way. I am witnessing and learning through this DB that becoming intolerant of the other point of view can also happen as one grows up the chain - so Self actualization might not necessarily lead to the larger good. | ||
