Recent ga post vesa (Friend's kids US passport expired and Indian visa expired - they did not apply for OCI yet) - so here is the experience (asked him the details and posting it here so it can be of use to others) 1. They got an appointment with passport office in DC on monday 8:30AM. Got appointment at travisa for tuesday 9:00AM 2. Drove to DC sunday night and went to passport office by 8:00AM. Passport application submitted at 9:00AM and office asked them to come and pick up passport at 2:00PM. They went to check around 12:30PM passport ready 3. Immediately went to hotel - filled indian visa form (you need new ppt number) applied for travisa and changed appointment online to same day 3:00PM. 4. went to travisa.. submitted the visa forms.. they said they will fedex 5. Indian visa given and fedex will be coming today with the passport not as crazy as they expected it seems, travisa is efficient but lot of desis with half filled applications, emergencies etc can create a racket there |
