Congress MLA from Sangareddy and government whip Turpu Jayaprakash Reddy, who is now strongly opposed the Telangana state formation, has admitted that he had cheated the people of Telangana by taking up the separate statehood slogan before 2004. Speaking to media persons on Tuesday, Jagga Reddy said he had joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in 2004 and contested the assembly elections from Sangareddy with a promise to fight for Telangana, only after he was denied the ticket by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It is true that I had cheated the people by saying that I would fight for Telangana. But even TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao did the same thing. He also said he would fight continuously till he gets Telangana, but all he had done was to get was a cabinet berth in the Centre. If KCR was a cheat, then I am also a cheat, Jagga Reddy said. He warned the TRS president against enacting dramas in the name of reviving the Telangana agitation to run down the Congress. I know everything about KCR and his family. If I open my mouth, I would expose their corruption. If he has guts, let KCR contest from his home turf Medak. I will see how he wins the elections, the Congress whip challenged. No Signature |
