October first week lo, I renewed my son's US passport. No expedite, just regular application at post office.
we received US passport in 10 days.
Most post offices ask to take an appointment, which takes about 1 week time. But some post offices have walk-in. Call the local post office and they will guide you, which post offices allow walk in's in that city

For Indian visa, download the forms, carry passport sized photos and go to Indian Consulate (or affiliated office) in Washington DC in person. If we go first thing in the morning, we should get passport back with Indian visa by end of the day.

My friend is supposed to go to India in early Jan for a wedding
They just discovered that their kids passport (US Citizen) has expired and Indian visa as well (they have not applied for OCI yet).

I think they have to go to Washington DC (nearest) for new passport and Indian visa (i think you get visa one day and get passport the other day)...

I am sure passport is possible but how does it work for Indian visa
Any advice, suggestions, experiences will be helpful
