i never hated modi or bjp in fact i like modi so much never posted a post opposing him in this dB .. my family members knew ysr personally voted for congress only in 2004 and 2009 based on personal liking of YSR so naturally supported ysrcp and jagan ..but changed ideology and changed to BJP follower realising teh evils of conversion and threat to hindu nationalism..what made me change well every one faces some circumstancesnad change not a big issue but when u change u change whole heartedly or just do lip service is the MATTER ..i changed whole heartedly I DID NOT CHANGE DEVELOPING HATRED SUDDENLY ON JAGAN ,YSR /YSRCP if i changed like taht my chnage would have been a fake one ..i changed on ideological reasons ...not PERSONAL HATRED /LIKING aperson | ||

The Sonia camp said that the Congress had failed to capitalise on Soniaâs charisma because of organisational weaknesses. Sonia accepted the argument and started toying with the idea of taking over the party. She, however, made it clear that unless Kesri stepped down gracefully and invited her to take over, she would not opt for a coup. But Chacha was in no mood to oblige. The next chapter of the power struggle was put into motion. Worried CWC members held a series of secret conclaves to work out how to âinstallâ Sonia at the helm. Pranab Mukherjee, AK Antony and Jitendra Prasada were given the task of sounding Kesri out about retiring âgracefullyâ. Initially, Kesriâs ânephewsâ Ahmad Patel and Ghulam Nabi Azad approached him. But Kesri laughed off the proposal. âYou have been sent by Arjun Singh and George. It cannot be Soniajiâs words. If she wants me out, let her say soâ, he told them. A restless Pawar joined in the âKesri hataoâ campaign. It was not that Pawar was enthusiastic about Sonia taking over, but the Maratha strongman was getting feedback from Mumbai and the corporate world that as long as Kesri was the head of the party, the industrial houses would not support it. For the next few weeks, Antony, Pranab, Pawar and Prasada met on numerous occasions to take stock of the situation. In these deliberations, Pawar and Prasada favoured a âsurgical operationâ, but Pranab and Antony wanted more time. Arjun Singh and Vincent George began drumming up support for Sonia among newly elected MPs. Pranab pulls a fast one Soon a handful of Kesri supporters who held important party posts launched a counter-offensive. Led by party general secretary Tariq Anwar, this group sought to curtail CWC meetings that had to be convened by the party chief. Kesri was advised not to call any CWC meetings because the partyâs bigwigs might ask him to step down. Kesri was convinced that the party constitution gave him ultimate powers and that, as long as he was the elected chief, nobody would dare to remove him. The pro-changers, however, succeeded in persuading Kesri to call a CWC meet on 5 March 1998 to assess the partyâs poor performance in the general elections. Kesri had little option but to concede. The meeting saw the CWC requesting Sonia to play a more direct and meaningful role. It took the unusual step of asking her to help pick a new leader of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP), a post that Kesri already held. Kesri made his displeasure public. He accused Pawar of plotting against him in order to become CPP leader. Kesri told his supporter Tariq Anwar â who later joined Pawarâs NCP â that Sonia would not let Pawar become CPP leader. The old man was proved right on this count at least. When Sonia took over as party chief, she got herself elected CPP leader even though she was not an MP. She was helped by Pranab who suggested an amendment in the CPP constitution. It stated that any party leader was free to get elected to its parliamentary body even if he/she was not a member of either house of Parliament! Amid many deliberations and behind-the-scenes activities, Kesri finally agreed to see Sonia. The loyalist in him could not resist unilaterally declaring that he was willing to step down as party chief, if she was going to take over from him. Kesri later recalled to the author how he was taken aback when she gently asked him, âWhen?â Kesriâs dreams of a âcommonerâ becoming prime minister were over. His constant refrain that the Congress president could not be ousted was no longer convincing. Some of his close aides asked him to defy the leadership. But Kesri could not muster the courage. He would keep recalling to anyone who cared to listen how Indira Gandhi had made him AICC treasurer. The bravado at being âelectedâ AICC chief evaporated. But there was more drama to ensue. Kesri told Sonia and the other restless CWC members that he would convene a press conference to make the formal announcement of his departure. Unseemly tug of war On 9 March 1998, Kesri announced his resignation as Congress president, but before the âgood newsâ could travel from 24 Akbar Road to 10 Janpath, Kesri threw in a rider. Under pressure from his coterie, Kesri claimed he had merely stated his intention to step down. The AICC chief said he had summoned the news agencies to clarify that he would place his resignation before the AICC general body meeting, which has more than a thousand delegates, to seek their approval. âThey have elected me, and I will seek their permission to resign,â he said. The next six days were chaotic, full of suspense and an unseemly tug-of-war. Kesri kept giving interviews and sound-bytes that were contradictory. The old guard called on him again but Kesri was defiant. âYou wanted me to resign. I have done itâ, he said adding that now it was up to him to convene the AICC session. Prasada, who was the partyâs vice president, took charge. He told Pranab, Antony and others that the time for âdirect actionâ had come On Thursday night, Sitaram Kesri established his hold over the 112-year-old Congress party with an emphatic 82.36 per cent win. Kesri, who had been a backroom operator in the Congress for years, including a 17-year stint as party treasurer, emerged the provisional head of the party last September after a much- maligned P V Narasimha Rao was forced to quit. Since then Kesri (or Chacha, as he is known in party circles), who has projected himself as a messiah of the minorities and downtrodden, has left no stone unturned to strengthen his position in the nation's oldest political party. He lost no time in appointing his own men to important party posts and got Narasimha Rao to resign as Congress Parliamentary Party leader late last year. When faced with the likelihood of a prolonged investigation, Chacha took the gamble and withdrew his party's support to the H D Deve Gowda-led United Front government on March 30. Though the move earned him a lot of criticism within the Congress, he got everything the way he wanted -- 'anti-Congress' leader Deve Gowda was out and 'friendly' I K Gujral was in. hmmmmm...Interesting...Can you please explain this? When Rajiv expired, he was leader of Opposition. PVNR was a loyal retired Congressman. Sonia Maino was just an individual. Because she happened to be Rajiv's wife, and the assassination happened in the middle of the polls, Congress party made her the Congress president to reap the sympathy vote. For whatever reason, Sonia did not agree. The Congress men like Arjun Singh , VH etc asked her to atleast canvass in the election. She refused to do this as well. AND she was away from Public life for the next 6-7 years. After the polls, PVNR became the PM because he reportedly had Sonia maino's support - even though she supported none. She came into full time politics only in 1997/8. | ||

From Last 2 terms Sonia sacrificed the PM post. Neither she nor any of her family member occupied that post. Where as your selective leader Jagan and YSR family demanding for the CM position as his/her birth right. Rajiv Gandhi never took baptism with force of Sonia but Anil Sarma took it forcefully by Sharmila & YSR family. Rajiv Gandhi cremated as per Hindu rituals. None of the Gandhi family members involved in Religion propagation like what we see in YSRC where the son-in-law of party head and brother-in-law of party head is a big religious preacher and encourages religious conversions. Rajiv gandhi family never gave salaries to pastors. But YSR family doing it since 2007. Gandhi family never indulged in hurting Hindu sentiments. But YSR and Jagan maligned our abode Thirumala. None of the Gandhi family members got arrested in the name of corruption. But Jagan got arrested under corruption charges. Due to YSR/Jagan, many IAS and buisness man got arrested. Being a Hindu, I am very selective. | ||
