that link doesn't provide an answer to how the "SUPER CHARGEr" stations get/generate their electricity.... if they are drawing it from the grid, which inturn is from the traditional sources, the same scenario that I explained in earlier post would prevail
Solar panels is a good step, initially. Hoping that the cars become success and demand for recharges increase, it would be interesting to see how the recharge stations would cope with demand and supply and how will they generate their electricity. it depends on how the charging stations are generating electricity....a lot of charging stations in CA are using solar panels to charge the electric cars...so it is a step in the right direction... | ||

the misconception that electric cars are clean is more prevalent... mind it, predominant production of electricity is thru thermal energy (coal based) which itself is a source of pollution. Also, take this 1) Thermal energy is just 20% efficient, in the sense only 20% of the potential power by burning coal is harnessed as electricity 2) of the generated 100% electricity, the utilization is just 20-30%.
