The rise of RR Movie Makers was a phenomenal crest in Telugu cinema. They forayed in to movie production and distribution giving hope to numerous small movies. they hoped that they would save them from the theater mafia which will not allow movies to get enough theaters for release. However, they just became one more demon in the hell. In movie production: RR Movie Makers are one of the main culprits in increasing the remuneration of top stars in Tollywood. They have reportedly paid as much as 25 Crore in the form remuneration for Businessman. And with this kind of business model, their movies did not pay dividends to any one involved in the trade. This damage extended to other movies too as the stars increased their remuneration thereby increasing the production costs. In movie distribution: To please the top stars, RR film distributors have started to buy the distribution rights of other movies at high costs. They bagged the AP rights of Dhada and Nizam rights of Rajanna at exorbitant prices to please Nagarjuna. All these were done at the cost of money obtained from advances and financiers. And now all that money is at stake. Their fancy exhibitionist behaviour had tempted several new distributors in to the business. Out of inexperience, they quote huge amounts and finally lose the money. The entire model of RR movie makers is a flawed right from remunerations to movie release. They even have not paid remuneration from Assistant director to Nagarjuna for Damarukam. One more interesting aspect in this issue is no body had ever seen Venkat, the owner of RR Movie makers. There is also a rumour in industry that this a method of converting ill gotten money and evading taxes. | ||
