It is not just in the vote.....daily aspects of life...small things like following traffic rules, following the Q in a Post Office etc that will start making a difference.... Accept that we have an Ultra competitive society in India - Over populated with people fighting for resources - and politicians feeding on the citizen's fears if we start showing that we need not fight for everything - that there is enough for everyone (if we live within our means), we can start making a difference - adn reject the political noise that we hear almost every minute in India | ||

How do we make honest citizens? Deeniki answer evari daggara undhi? I guess it is a long drawn out process which will take years and years - and at the end will be met with only limited success. But still worth a try. When it comes to politics... Citizens should disassociate from any political party - any particular politician - difficult but doable -Instead they should focus on the issue, the decision taken and whether the decision is for the objective of the larger good. Stop looking at everything through tinted glasses i.e. based on the viewpoint of a political party that we are aligned to. Every citizen should strive to make the daily life better - Both the Govt employee giving the service and the common man receiving the service. How many of us empathize with the Traffic constable who stands in searing heat with pollution all around? Why does a well paid professional who spends Rs.1000/- to go to a movie with his family or spends Rs.2000/- to go to a restaurant with his family need subsidized cooking gas? Why is he complaining when the subsidy is removed? However on the bright side, there are a few individuals who have opted to pay the non subsidized rate after this new move by the Govt. A very small minority. Why cannot everyone with a household income > Rs.50,000 pm say that he / she does not need subsidized cooking gas. And worse if the party he / she likes is in power, we support the removal of the subsidy and if another party is in power, we lambast the move. | ||

The only way to change the politician - the one and only way is to have honest citizens..... Laws, Arrests etc etc will never change the politician | ||
