Bond was loosing value for last few movies before casino royale, so the tesm decoded to do something drastic to save the franchise like how Nolans batman series saved the batman franchise. So they made bod complete opposite to what he was, they cant do it as current hero, so they recreated hero who was complete opposite to bond theme and envisioned slowly becoming one. Skyfall would do the same thing to Bond series that TDK did to Batman series; give the necessary boost to the franchise. Many people are saying that this is the best bond yet? If you ask me whether I would agree, I wouldn't comment on that. For me, the bond series started with Brosnan and I wouldn't dare to watch earlier bond movies as they would look silly and sound non-sensical to me! So, would follow the next question, how is Craig compared to Brosnan? People exclaim: aah he's more Bourne than Bond! To all those die hard fans of brosnan and his style, I would say, "behold this movie, if and when the next one comes out and if Craig is still the bond then you would hail him as truly The Best Bond ever!". This movie is more of a transistion for the bond. From rookie agent who fell trap to the women love (Casino Royale), to the not so caring agent who wouldn't wink twice when the girl he slept before night is shot infront of him! From the sentimental spy who considered M his motherly figure to the 007 for who, its just the reporting office! Its the transformation, this film is! As said already, he gets girls, starts using gadgets, his trademark vintage Aston Martin and quite a bit shaken up martini with that ever so fresh back ground score, everything's right here! And yes, he utters couple of one liners too! When I mentioned TDK in the begining of this review, I have done so purposefully! This movie draws heavily from the Dark Knight triology (and more from the TDK) than that meets the eye. To start with, the villain is Jokerissh. While The Joker is a maniac, here he is slightly gayish. The entire sequence of him getting arrested and release are, to me, a direct draw from TDK! And Bond, just like the Batman, watches his house turn into a pile of debris, right in front of his eyes! But there's more to the inspiration bit. As much as the Batman was The Dark knight in the hour of need for Gotham in TDK, he could not save those he was hell bent on doing so! And bond doesn't fail to live upto that tradition! So, is it going to be a gloomy picture with potential for oscar? With the assurance that James Bond will be back, oh yeah, Bond's bound to be back. And when he is, he would be one hell of a Spy, with the license to kill and without strings attached. More suave and less sentimental. With more cars and gadgets and hopefully, with even more physical action! This movie is a kick-ass action entertainer and I'm already looking forward for the next one.
