NORRISTOWN - An Upper Merion man accused of killing a 10-month-old baby and her grandmother during a botched kidnapping for ransom scheme now has a lawyer to represent him. Raghunandan Yandamuri, 26, will be represented by defense lawyer Stephen Heckman, former chief public defender in Montgomery County, when he has his preliminary hearing on charges of first- and second-degree murder, kidnapping, robbery, theft and abuse of a corpse in connection with the murders of 10-month-old Saanvi Venna and her grandmother, Satayvathi Venna, 61 Heckman was appointed Friday by a panel of Montgomery County judges to represent Yandamuri. "The compensation of said appointed counsel is to be borne by Montgomery County," the judges wrote in the court order. Preliminary hearing for accused murderer of Saanvi Venna postponed UPPER MERION — A preliminary hearing scheduled for an Upper Merion man accused of the alleged killing of a 10-month-old baby and her grandmother was continued Friday at the request of defense attorney Steve Heckman. Raghunandan Yandamuri, 26, of Upper Merion had been arraigned on two counts each of first and second degree murder by District Judge James Gallagher in Bridgeport on Oct. 26. i don't want to open another thread..so posting here.. DB was so depressing last couple of weeks with all these continuous incidents of accidents, murders etc.... latest in the series.. Illinois woman killer her own 5-year old son and 7-year girl(baby-sitting).. The victim was identified as Vishwaja Muppa, 21, from Jubilee Hills. Vishwaja was pursuing Masters in Biology at Stony Brook University in New York State. The mishap occurred in the wee hours of Tuesday at the intersection of Routes 347 and 112 in Port Jefferson Station, Long Island, New York, when the Toyota Highlander carrying Vishwaja and her three friends collided with Suffolk County Police officer Rene Garcia's car. Vishwaja died on the spot , while her three friends, who also suffered critical injuries, are undergoing treatment at a local hospital. According to a Suffolk police spokesperson, the traffic light at the road intersection, where the mishap had occurred, was not functioning at the time of the crash. Police suspect that the Sandy hurricane might be the reason for the defunct traffic signal, which led to the accident. According to Vishwaja's family friend Uma from Banjara Hills, her father M Narendar Reddy, a private contractor, and mother Jyothy stay in New Jersey. "Only her grandfather Dr Manohar Reddy, stays at MLA Colony on Road Number 10, Banjara Hills. We are shocked to hear the news.
