Since the subject has come, I would like to share my inner thoughts on this Caste gremlin. In apartments telugu Families befriending other families of their own caste & not so pally pally with other telugu families. I think caste based politics are not that different to far-right extremist parties/groups. I strongly believe, most of the educated men/women who are implicitly Casteist & partial to their own Caste haven't faced a REAL Racist incident in real world. They were never on the receiving end i suppose! If they had they wouldnt be subjecting other people through the same experience! What could be the reason - for a person to defend another man/woman based on caste? Is it because they had favors done in the past? Is it because their family/friends had benefited in some way or the other? It is different matter if the person in question is a Friend OR Family. But in most cases it isnt the case AFAIK. I think, in a way the Casteists are not different from Racists! It is not a question of who is worse in this matter... all castes(brahms/kaps/reds/kams/yadvs/gouds etc..) have their own share of involvement in creating a segregated society. Educate & enlighten me on the subject without spitting & cursing.  | ||
