No calibration done.

You can connect any TV to mac mini with HDMI connection. No need to use Thunderbolt display.

I have 27" iMac (late '11 model). My media is all hosted on a server in basement (Windows Home Server), so iMac can play everything over network (GBE). Plus, with the Cablevision app, I can watch all the subscribed TV channels without STB. It is like another TV with minimal foot print.

In my main room, currently I have self-built HTPC running for past 6 years. It is hooked up to Denon A/V receiver to TV. I want to replace this with mac mini and use the same HDMI connections. It will be less noisy and smaller foot print on the console.

the idle power usage is low on this thing. Do you connect a display to that? How were you planning to use it?

yeah...but the latest ipod touch is already 299..its almost 8 inch and half pound lighter than ipad 2..299 would be good but 329 is also not that bad..

I think it will just cannibalise the ipad. the 7 inch is a better form factor, not sure about the 7.9. you can lie down on your bed or couch and hold a 7 inch table, like i do with my kindle. i can't do that with my ipad.
