There is a great pickle in Andhra Pradesh called Aavakaya. It is spicy hot and is not meant for the faint hearted. Ask any Telugu person and he/she will vouch for Aavakaya plus Curd Rice. Divine combination really.

Now, though not from AP, there is a nice sweet called Basundi. It is supposedly so sweet that you’d get sugarcoated praises no matter how badly it is prepared.

Here’s an interesting thought. Eat a spoonful of Basundi and immediately gulp down some Aavakaya. Then come back to Basundi and again Aavakaya. Imagine that surreal experience. That’s a pretty accurate expression of what Camera Man Ganga Tho Rambabu serves you on a platter.

There are mindblowingly enjoyable sequences interspersed with mind numbingly stupid screenplay decisions. This movie has no story, mind you. So everything hinges on narration. The narration moves like the Bullet train at some places and like Adoni passenger at others. There are a number of scenes which would have been memorable had they been given a fitting place in the narration. Now they simply stood like an orphan not really knowing why they were here in the first place.

It then all culminated into what I would like to call “The Lego Climax”. Unnecessary use of third rate graphics brought down the intensity of what would otherwise have been a “power”ful episode leaving a distaste in the mouth as we left the movie hall. Why “Lego”? You have to see the computer graphics to understand what I am talking about.

Camera Man Ganga Tho Rambabu is an honest effort. No questions about it. However honest and well placed its intentions are, it fails to resonate with the viewer because of the tardy screenplay and the insipid climax. Full marks to Pawan Kalyan and Tamannah for their effort though.

Watch out for PK’s speech on “Ammailu”.
Naaku nacchindi janaalaki nacchadu... Janaalaki nacchindi naaku nacchadu... Nenanthe.. adho type.
