the world of appearances may or may not be real, or both may and may not be real - or may be indescribable; or may be real and indescribable, or unreal and indescribable; or in the end may be read and unreal and indescribable - its all Syadvada

Not just parents. It is everywhere. I took my kid to skating class and he was a little scared. A few teddy bears were given and he started reaching out for them.

Couple of weeks earlier in the swimming class, it is the same thing....he was scared and crying......he was given a dolphin and then he was happily playing with it after a while.....

I see it almost in any activity.....even the schools/teachers use the same principles........

wondering if there is a parallel between these incidents and behavior modification using reward/punishment techniques.......

quite a dilemma.....not sure what is the best way out........

Pplsuck:

Do parents relying on rewards, condition their kids and kill the natural joy of work/activity? Does it make every activity mundane? Is it like living with everything but soul?
