devadas family stay in singapore township which is outskirts of Hyd [12 KM from uppal , near ghatkesar]...we also stay in same singapore township.. suma/rajeev stay in hyd city becuase of their shootign work..so they used to come on weekends to this place. i have not seen the video. in our recent india trip, I called up Sri devadas kanakala and he readily arranged a meet with Suma for my kids. She gave a good time during her shooting break, talked very nicely and my kids were very happy  I personally like Suma for her anchoring skills along with very good timing on any topic. | ||

Nenu 9 years TN lo vunnanu and had good firends from Tamil Industry. Rajni has a separate table in Park Sherton which the hotel management always used to keep it as reservered. He used to drink heavily. Rajni had an affair with an actress called Latha (I guess his wife's name is also Latha). But MGR screwed up his affair and then he was heart broken. He was under depression during 1986-87 (when Megastar was on full gear to stardom). Then he acted his 100th movie as Sri Raghavendra (his wife supported him to come back to normal). He become NO#1 only in 1992 with Ananmalai (remade as Kondapalli raja). Till 1992 Kamal & Rajni had equal market share and craze. As Ruj explained...TN media and other hero fans do not spread negative rumours like our state. They hide Rajni's bad habits and glorify his sprituality, genoristy & humility..Anthe...That is the difference b/w TN & AP. bro talking abt this seriously..there is no way we could conclude or prove anything..it all depends on what u want to believe/whom you want to believe and what sounds convicing.. I upteen number of times crticized/complained abt numerous things in tfi..but regarding this aspect I believe we(TFI) are relatively much better off than tamil counter parts.. starting from producers/director, big distributors to senior heroes all of them are linked with notorious stories..and not necessarily everything is abt having an affair with famous heroine.. anything related to in general how jr artists are treated..and safety of women etc.. starting from savithri to silk smitha, rambha, sneha etc...our tfi 'relatively' treated them in a better way compared to tamil counter parts.. again this is just a relative comparision.. I doubt Telugu heroes are anywhere saintly. Barring Venky, whose clean image is supported by his aversion to industry, all heroes of 90s were linked with names. In this generation, even Mahesh Babu, who I am a fan of and who I admire for his rigid control of his association with fans, have had insiders reveal his weakness. Marriage looks to have changed him. In general, there is nothing to care about how people lead their life unless they are like the Nithyanandas of the world. I mean, if you are no Ram, don't expect your wife to be Sita. | ||

there was one incident.during one of his film's 100days celebration or something...where he drank and fainted behind the stage..and they were calling his name and he couldnt be found.. this i read in some national magazine told by one famous tamil producer/director..I cant recollect the name now.. after that incident he stopped doing things publicly.. he was a staunch womeniser (meaning not affairs in general....) even from early days until mid nineties atleast..or that is what I heard consistently from my numerous tamil colleagues... if talking abt big affairs.other than amala, there was a time where he even tried for sridevi but things did not work out.. if chiru bala venky etc did the same things as rajni, they would have been dragged to roads and raped(their image) literally.. Judging from articles and interviews, I would say Rajni became more spiritual in the early 80s and onwards. Amala case was one of the highlighted ones in those days articles. But he has my appreciation in that he was always open about his life and didn't lie when asked. It's those around him who make him appear to be superman. He is honest about himself. | ||

In the early days, his character was an open book. He was always truthful and didn't hide, unlike Telugu counterparts. I mean, even in black and white days, heroine Jamuna was blacklisted by ANR because he had his eyes on her and she wouldn't fall into his trap. This came from Jamuna herself for a Telugucinema.com interview. Of course, later on, they had the forget and forgive policy going on. LOL... Amala was going great guns at one time in South. I think Rajni was the actor she acted opposite most with... read this story in a Stardust/Filmfare article from back in the 90's. Rajni is no saint. Tamilians(his brahmin affiliated relatives and press and fan associations) try to make him look like that saint. But history reads differently. In Kerala, there are only two heroes as far as people are concerned. Mohanlal and Mammootty. Haven't heard anything. But in Tamil, yes, since they are mostly poor Telugus who act in Tamil as side or even heroes are half Telugu. Maybe not of powerful castes. Also heroines from Savithri to those ike Ramba, Roja, Bhanupriya, Lakshmi... Why, your comment about Rajni reminded me of his supposed affair with Akkineni Amala. | ||
