You got me wrong. I never claimed that candidates are spending from their own pockets. They have provision to spend from their own pockets with a preset limit. But I am against even to that. My proposition was that the govt. should spend the money in a controlled way. NRI means Indian citizen only, a foreign citizen cannot be called NRI. But if parties start taking donations from NRI than even in that list Congress would top. any transactions above some x amount (for ex:10,000 rupees) must be in the form of check, draft, credit card, or online transfer...something like that rule pettali..so that its easy for RBI to track all that money. this should be applicable to all donations to parties, temples, churches...what ever it is... | ||

So much for the claims by the ruling Govt, and the opposition that they will eliminate black money from the country The bitter truth is that political parties are the largest creators of demand for black money in India. Let us look at the official numbers from the EC for the period 2004 - 2011 INC: Rs 2008 Cr BJP: Rs 994 Cr CPM: Rs 417 Cr TDP: Rs 53 Cr Now comes the outrageous part. Though the donations are in hundreds of crores, Congress claims that only 12% came from donations above 20k, or, they have shown accounts only for that small %age. BJP is doing its best to follow Cong at 26%. TDP only 37% CPM only 1.29% LOL... Remember if only the reported income to ECI is running into tens, hundreds and thousands of crores, imagine how much money they get on the whole?
