Dependent visas like H4 are not possible for GC, so spouse has to maintain her own status until spouse becomes a citizen. | ||

No issues, hHe can go tomorrow and apply for GC for adjustment of status, she will get EAD immediately. In a few months, she will get GC as they have been married for more than 2 years. | ||

A friend of mine got his greencard in 2007, just 4 months before that he got married and got his wife on H1. There was a loophole and they applied for Her GC and her process is in 485 now as dependent. Today he got citizenship and suddenly another friend reminded him that his wife is dependent on his GC and what would happen to her as his GC is cancelled as soon as he gets citizenship.
