most time consuming project done so far fixing the deck. It was totally worn out with no maintenance in last 10 yrs. I thought it will be as simple as power washing and painting..turned out to be more than that. 1. Applied deck wash 2. Rented power wash from home depot 3. Power washed but it created lot of splinters 4. Bought a sander 5. Sanded the deck 6. Applied water resistant coat 7. Applied stain all this resulted in total makeover for the deck. neighbors and friends kurrol sebash annar. This project lasted over a few weekends with around 5hrs work/weekend due to complexity and hindrance from weather | ||

Two projects 1. Washer problem fixed by looking at youtube videos. Problem was not spinning after washing. Luckily it was a simple switch problem but not evident easily and I followed youtube procedure religiously . Saved $$. 2. Garbage disposal: REmoved and installed new one. I had initially called plumber and made appointment after fixing price. After he visited my place, he said he needs more. Then I told he cant change the price afterwards with a valid reason. I said I wont change the price, take it or leave it. HE left. I then did it on my again seeign a view youtube videos. Not that tough actually. | ||

i have done my own internal painting, tv wall mounts, with internal wiring and surround sound systems. I have upgraded most of the bath room fixtures, including toilet bowls. currently planning to run ethernet cables to some rooms, and some back splash to kitchen. I do because i like it, but it takes alot of time and patience to plan and execute on your own. money saving kosam ayithe cheyaka povatam better ani na opinion, a professional appears to charge more, but he can handle complexities much better than we can on our own.it is very easy to screw up!! if its for your satisfaction and if you get thrill out of it, go ahead with it. the world of appearances may or may not be real, or both may and may not be real - or may be indescribable; or may be real and indescribable, or unreal and indescribable; or in the end may be read and unreal and indescribable - its all Syadvada | ||

florescent light in kitchen was out for 3 weeks..tried replacing lights, no luck. lona india laga starter, choke untaady anukunna..replacing kast hi ani lwite tiskunna. I came across a video on youtube explaining how to replace a ballist (similar to our choke anukunta). Malli trip to home depot..paid extra attention to wire connections and replaced it..bingo it worked. | ||

youtube has lot of videos for DIY projects. 2nd project was replacing a light fixture. Electrician was charging 60$ for labor when the fixture was ~40$. We were debating whether to do it by ourselves or not but after watching youtube videos..thought we could manage it. screwed up running the wires initially and aligning the light to ceiling took a while bcoz its based on guess work..was able to do it in 40 mins. more than $ savings, the satisfaction we get after completing the project is well worth it. | ||

my first project was painting, it was fun. Painting is an easy task but the prep work takes lot of time. Applying the masking tape to trims and edges require lot of patience. | ||
