Worked 90% on Android for ML stock-trading apps, 10% on iOS, primarily iPad, fixing defects and bugs. My observations - 1) Desktops/laptops probably will become obsolete in a short-while. Web based UI, may be HTML5 sites, or bundling HTML5 with some latest Javascript frameworks and ship it for running on mobile/tablet devices is the way to go now. Everything is becoming Cloud based. Lot of scope for DLNA type of environment. Future of 'Computer is the network' is very promising. 2) All three are awesome - Android, iOS and Windows. Only thing, Android and iOS are already peak of their shelf-lives. Windows, they say, has better security. Have to wait and see how Windows 8 scores overall. 3) Android is free-free-free-free free. Any OS, even an iPad can be used for Development Environment. iOS development environment is tightly bound with Mac. You cannot setup, test, or release an Apple based mobile/tablet device app from a Windows or Linux based machine. 4) Android Training sessions starting early to mid October in Edison, NJ.
