Truly interesting. i dont know what the inverted bars mean in the last 10 years. But if you look at the 50 years after ww2, you can see that all classes saw a wealth increase. I think the more logical explanation to seemingly disproportional growth of "investment class" after 80s is because of US emerging as a global leader in innovation and entrepreneurship. They found new markets that did not exist before and it helps the top 5% before it trickles down to lower classes Also the same time that saw expansion of corporations and stock market Looking at that negatively reminds of a margaret thatcher quote - "you don't mind that the income disparity is low even if it means that all classes are poorer" And yes Reaganomics is overrated. He didnt really cut spending. Govt actually doubled in size during Regan administration. May be better than nixon but nowhere close to what republicans make him out to be your google is as good as mine |
