Karachi idea undhi.. ive worked with a coleague who is a paki and born and brought up in karachi. Upscale neighbourhoods of karachi lo -internet cafe's -colonial time houses -japaneese cars viz toyota -modern and liberal values - young ladies with out veils - middle aged women in kurtas - co-ed colleges all in all notmuch diff than our indian middle class neighbourhods. this ismy personal fav - pakola drink.. its paki cola more like cream soda but with better taste. | ||

i would expect, something similar to rajasthan and a little bit of punjab!! buzzing with traffic, mostly with two wheelers and bigger four wheelers(like bus, lorry). people mostly dressed in traditional attire with thala paagas, and ladies with burkhas, and children playing cricket on roads and open spaces,with taped tennis balls(much similar to hyd when i was a kid) a good number of mosques, and narrow roads. areas with larger areas with big gardens. ample pollution. the world of appearances may or may not be real, or both may and may not be real - or may be indescribable; or may be real and indescribable, or unreal and indescribable; or in the end may be read and unreal and indescribable - its all Syadvada | ||

Was reading a blog by a favorite blogger of mine - Faiza (Dawn.com) and a comment by a purported Indian caught my attention. "All this talk about Indians loving Pakistanis is good but what do you really expect to see if and when you actually visit Pakistan?" Without resorting to religious jingoism, please share what you personally expect that a Pakistan visit by you would feel like. It requires no research on your part because you can assume that your current understanding of the Pakistani psyche is the real deal.
