Rebel:

Brother - i do 10Mile/week as minimum.. usually this is what I do when not training for a race.

Once I enrolled in a half, I setup a training plan using MiCoach App(fromAdidas).
This App gives pretty decent training plan of 4 or 5 days a week schedule.
On day 1, you could start with an Assessment workout too...
There are few other good running Apps for smartphones.. Personally I liked Adidas miCoach.

Completely stopped running till December. just daily brisk walks until then.

Im concentrating on flexibility and strength right now. spending around an hour every day in the mornings, since two weeks.

broke down my nutrition into 50% Protien, 40% carbs .

Not much change in weight, right now 178 pounds. December ninsi will start my bike race training. dhaaniki preparation anattu. lets see how the next year goes.

From December i will concentrate more on Running and biking, with strength training as secondary. I think by december my nutrition breakup will be 60% carb, 30% protien and 10%rest (man i would love that day :D)

yea I am using jay robbs whey
some say isolate is better than whey ...i kind of stopped paying too much attention
i put one scoop in 8-10 oz water and eat a banana or a cookie...something to spike my insulin just enough
i do this as my next meal after an hr is oats which will release slowly

you should be good to have it after running too..you are working your muscles when running

some ppl think they have to buy bigger shirts by lifting wts, drinking protein shake..not gonna happen...it is all in the total cal input

half lap antay tread mill paina map vasthaadhi kadha...andulo tracking
actual gaa i ran a mile already at 6 by that time and tried sprinting bursts
i might not yet do larger intervals like you as i am not that confident of my legs taking a beating

king
if your knees hurt that means
1) you are not going low wrt hips ...thighs should be parallel
2) push your kness out in direction of toes which are angled out wrt heel

sitti
spot on about form...even my first warm ups are with empty bar but still I need to correct form at workout wt
my deads are getting a bit strenuous, partly from last month's injury...so I am spacing out my deads more like once in 5 days
want to start power cleans but entha sadivina , enni vdos susinaaa cannot learn tenchic
so doing back extensions for now along with db rows on non dead days
may be next month i will take a 4 session training or sth similar
1) to check on my squats, deads form
2) learn power clean

you spend same amount of calories irrespective of the speed /mile ani ekkado chadiva..you just improve endurance because of speed. Speed burst is the latest trend laga vundhi as to do speed burst @ 8-10mph and slow down and repeat is more tough than maintaining speed at 7 mph for 1 hr

yup speed bursts current trend anukunta... heart rate kosam speed bursts must

cardio calories waste.... as soon as you stop running you will stop burning calories... calorie burning ante strength exercises... u will burn more calories in less time and will continue to burn calories for 24 hrs after the workout.

cardio to improve heart rate and if you can maintaine heart rate btw 150-160 good anukuntunna

but running at a constant low speed for longer duration is no good..

brisk walking then should be no good .. but actually it makes legs very flexible .. as i said if u have the right fitness, no point in running slow and long ... but if u dont have fitness and trying to regain .. then rather than trying to run faster and harder .. it is better to run longer at slightly lower speeds ... the chances of u becoming regular is more .. if u run hard one day and skip the whole of next week, it aint good

Did 2 half marathons this year in Houston.
Completed 1st half marathon in 1hr 51mins and 2nd half marathon in 1hr 50mins.
I usually run 20 miles a week.
Sometimes I concentrate on speed, sometimes on endurance.
Have been maintaining weight of 150lbs for the last 5 years.
I was 183lbs back in 2005. I am 32 year old now:-)

if u can run for longer at reduced speeds .. it should be fine ... the more time u can burn calories it is better than burning more calories in less time .. for cardio ... unless u want to reduce weight quickly ...

if you are preparing for a marathon... this is a good strategy

but running at a constant low speed for longer duration is no good... if you are trying to get fit and keep your heart healthy... heart rate matters and heart rate increases with speed

if u can run for longer at reduced speeds .. it should be fine ... the more time u can burn calories it is better than burning more calories in less time .. for cardio ... unless u want to reduce weight quickly ...

I started running this year..now do around 2-25 Miles/week both indoor and outdoor.
Tips ante..dress well for the run and be hydrated. I usually have half banana or a slice of toast before run and gatrade mix water during running around 10 ounce.
Most important is shoe and stretching.
Every time I start to run, want to stop within next 10 mins but I try to force myself and enjoy later part

Any tips you can share on Nutrition? Strength exercises?

What distance you try/do per week?

Do you set yourself any goals? OR do you use running more as Cardio & warmUp?

Are you a outdoors runner? OR treadmill preferred?

I try to do around 10miles or so per week.
Started running for cardio.. then became more regular than anything else:-)
Rarely do Treadmill if weather really crap else it is outdoors mostly.
