Thane, Aug 13 (PTI) A mob of around 350 people allegedly roughed up an outnumbered Mumbra police team, after it seized 19 rounds of self-loading rifle (SLR) ammunition from three teenagers for whom a manhunt has been launched, the Thane police said here today. Incidentally, during Saturday's violence in South Mumbai at the rally organised to denounce the riots in Assam, a mob had snatched two self-loading rifles (SLRs) and a pistol from women police personnel, police had said. However, the Mumbra police did not reveal if the rounds SLR seized by their team were related to the Azad Maidan incident. The mob also allegedly warned the Mumbra police team that they should not detain the teenagers who escaped, since they were about to break their fast. The incident occurred on Saturday, when a Mumbra police team led by sub inspector C G Ghag on patrol at around 6 pm, spotted three teenagers aged between 14 to 15 on a motorbike, carrying 19 rounds and four "chargers" of a self-loading rifle.
