The first Andhra cricketer to represent the country, MSK Prasad announced his retirement from first class cricket. Speaking to pressmen, Prasad, who hails from Guntur said: âI always dreamt of playing for my country. When I would tell my friends at school about my desire to become the first cricketer from Andhra to don the Indian colours everybody made fun of me. But when I was included in the Indian team to play my first Test against New Zealand at Mohali in 1999, it was the greatest day of my career.â Prasad, who played in six Tests and 17 one-day internationals, made his Test and ODI debut at the same venue. He has played 56 Ranji matches. He is credited with consistent performances for India âAâ during the Pakistan tour in 1999. |
