Filmbuff, read Zakaria's Post American World - if you haven't already. Another splendid piece of work. I loved future of freedom too. I think it was a lapse on part of Zakaria on the article lifting..I would definitely give him a pass on this.. | ||

I have been a great admirer or Fareed Zakaria. I absolute love his book - Future of Freedom. It is one of the finest books i have read of late. I always thought light of him, but that book really opened my eyes. He wears his erudition rather lightly. I have got another book of his that i have to commence reading. One of friends promised me to get a signed copy of Future of Freedom as he knows him indirectly and has met him a couple of times. I don't know what gets into people's minds sometimes. Sometimes they read an article, take some paragraphs and think they will amend later before the final draft and proof and then forget about it. Or he might have thought of adding quotes and citations, then screwed up at the end. Whatever might be the case, a big blot on his career. |
