Inching Month-Long Summer Recess of Congress and Skyrocketting Anxiety Among H.R. 3012 Pro & Con Forces Officially, both the House and the Senate will go into the summer recess beginning from 08/04/2012 (Saturday) and will not return to the sessions until September. After short sessions in September, they will return to their Congressional districts for the national election and the Congress will remain in recess until after the national election. This schedule of the Congress has been creating anxiety among the stakeholder employment-based immigrant communities relating to the H.R. 3012 bill as reflected in the Congressional website. Currently, H.R. 3012 is recorded the second highest searched bill on the website! The result of negotiation with Senator Grassley requires amendment to the House passed H.R. 3012, implying that currently H.R. 3012 is simply not a up or down vote bill in the Senate. Currently there is no known schedule for this bill being brought up on the floor today, but next two days (Wednesday and Thursday) will mark the most critical Senate sessions for the pro or con forces and for this bill even being taken up on the Senate floor.
