In fact there was a time, almost till 2007 or 2008 when Federer rarely played drop shots. He had a disdain towards the drop shot. He felt that a drop shot was a feint, a subterfuge and not a shot, almost an un-shot. With Federer respect for purity, he felt that a drop shot was an interruption of a natural flow of the body and breaking a shot mid-way. But over the past 3-4 years as his muscles and body have slowed, he has become a bit more flexible. I am trying to search for that article where i read his views on the drop shot. Not able to find it. | ||

I had been searching for this video. Finally found it. Absolute magic from the Master. I bet this shot did not exist not was it named as a Carved Drop shot till Master invented it.
