people are more sympathetic towards Murray...outside of wimbledon he never got the fans behind him like the big 3 ...things will change and once he is back on hard courts he should do good in the US open series -- there are certain people who enjoyed that love from wimbledon over the years even it is against a british player.... agassiover sampras.....people used to queue up the day before to watch a agassi match......even when sampras was winning everything..... Fed is the same...he is absolutely loved..... Murray sympathy doesnt matter.....If he is good enough to come to finals....I would think...you are good enough to give a match to your opponent...who ever it may be.... To have one great player before you in the rankings is ok....to have two....is unlucky......to have three is cruel..... no excuses .....winner makes the story.......simples.... one back hand slice drop shot and an other forehand slice from the back of the court (from his left side to murray's left) stood out for me.... when those kind of shots were unleashed....it took more than a human to beat Fed yesterday... never the less.....Im proud of Murray..... still gutted though.... Surprisingly i too dug out this classic article by David Foster Wallace and sent to a few friends today. In fact, a few shots yesterday were so mindblowing and so unfathomable by ordinary minds and bodies, it for once made a believer out of an atheist like me. |

Oh the grass, it's too slow! serves, volleys, they're slow mo But wait a sec, as the upsets flow Rafa's out, don't ya know? Then a Brit, sees his chance And with that, starts the dance Rain, roof closed, wait, its not! Not as soggy as we thought Fortunes fade, while others rise up to each, to use their guise Aching back, two sets down, what's the diff, when Fed's around? He's Houdini, wrapped in white Down a break, full of fight He's sneaky, hobbled, wont go down! London is this man's town Here comes Djoker, full of bluster Rog he serves, with all his muster Goodbye Trauma, Flushing's gone wave that Wilson magic wand Then comes murray, who's in a hurry equaled Bunny, now thats funny! Up a set, with all to gain then, two drop volleys, oh the pain! chances gone, few to follow but forget it, Muzz won't wallow! He's taken in, Brit's favorite son match is lost but batttle's won As for Fed, what's to say? this has been an epic day roof may close, roof may open But the Swiss, he'll be copin! write him off, but he's got seven for his fans, seventh heaven |

Roger, You are a true epitome of Tennis as of now...What a perseverance man... Such a huge crowd in centre court...screams of pro-murray shouts... match choostonte..Maake vucha paduthondhi..how did you hold your nerves..showing such a low emotions during match.. After first set you looked calmer and more assertive than ever. Also you are not 20-25 years young man...you are in 30s...a family. with kids..where do you draw inspiration from..to play such a quality tennis.. with 56 unfoarced errors, and very minimum aces..yesterday..still you took it your side by cuts and semi-drop volleys ..and with your brilliance game..almost you made Murray to somarsualt in court more than 5 times I am not measuring you just by numbers/records you have achieved... We like you for the beauty and creativity of your game, because of the feeling that you gave us about such a artistic sport but grass court lo with head band..with golden hairs..that white dress.....you just look like god sent man to play tennis.. and all your team in the box, your family coach,physio..looks like a FBI team watching their man in operation at centre with RF labels ï for bloody 4-5 hours of tennis..you never even look at crowd..or coach..just..you play...simple subtle tennis The supremacy you have shown in simple way is amazing. And with yesterdayâs victory everyone may have to rest their case about the King of Kings. You didnât surprise me by winning Final..but surprised by winning semis against djokovic.. King, you are GREATEST grand master of tennis Below old article(2006/2007) sums Federer's greatness up far more comprehensively, A must read bit by David foster(RIP David), if you havenât already http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/20/sports/playmagazine/20fede rer.html?_r=2&pagewanted=all this is an old article..but nothing has changed in fedâ¦even after 6 years Rogerâ¦thanks for being my inspiration.. |
