Pre Scriptum: Rajamouli is my favorite Director in Telugu. Scriptum: Rajamouli should be called as Revenge Mouli - as all his movies except for Student No:1 and Maryada Ramanna - Simhadri, Sye, Chatrapathi, Vikramarkudu, Yamadonga, Magadheera and now Eega are revenge based movies. Only difference being how and in what way takes revenge. Businessman lo Puri dialogue laaga janaalaku Puli meeda kopam tho jinka ni champaali anukunnattu, people always want underdogs to take revenge. Same goes for all of his movies where Villians are very powerful and hero takes revenge. Excluding Student No:1, the common pattern in RM movies is villian being very very very power ful. So, what has changed now: 1. Rajamouli understood clear dynamics of changed situations - The revenue from class centres (Cities and Overseas) has increased significantly in past 5 years - Hence the gain of stars like Mahesh and loss of stars like NTR. So, he started making movies and moving close to these types, while he has already Mass image. At the same time his concept of revenge appeals well in B,C Centres. Last 3 movies from him are of these type, which makes him a absolute Min Guarantee Director 2.Rajamouli knows the importance of marketing. Prati cinema ki prati okaru kasta padataaru, but his progress report is to just show to audience how hard is to do things. Kasta paddaru anna Sympathy (Jagan ki Sympathy undakoodadu ane OT laanti candidates kooda abba RM entha kastapaddadu anukovadam is an example) will help things 3. Maintain positive virations in the industry. Marketing and Positioning himself well with all heroes mean there is no scope for any fans to bring in any negative talk for the movie (just like it happens normally for general star movies). Best example of movie talks when heroes had sympathy are Simha, Dookudu and Gabbar Singh where no one spread negative talk. With RM praising every hero all his relations are positive 4. Promoting and planning movie in other languages like Tamil and Malayalam. Roping in kannada actor to give enough scope in Karnataka. Given all these, Rajamouli is undoubtedly No:1 Star of TFI after Chiranjeevi who has craze across A,B and C Centres. Just like top heroes doesnt need great directors for openings, Rajamouli doesnt need any stars for openings. So, adi eegaa inkokataa anedi immaterial. At this juncture came a movie called Eega which is at the best "Below Average" to "Average", but the hype generated and Rajamouli got the openings for the movie and will make the movie as a hit movie commercially. Post Scriptum: My view on Eega - 2.75/5, utterly disappointed for this RM style of RGV's trying to cash in the image now.
