Toronto/Ottawa/Vancouver roads are awesome. You can't judge a city by it's downtown core. That is the place with peak traffic issues. Also, USA can't be compared with European countries. Their cities were planned long before highways. I guess recent immigrants easily forget just how young North America is... Srilankan Tamil/Paks... look at the background they came from. From that perspective, their gains are awesome. The second generation and even some first generation are making so much progress in professional sides. Don't look down at labor work. Our parents and grandparents did that. If not for IT, can't imagine state of those from Andhra that have had their lifestyle changed in India and abroad. Will probably be at employment exchange office for half their 20s like the previous generation or head to the Gulf to do menial work for the Arab bosses. | ||

been to toronto recently..agree with Poli on roads part. They were narrow and full of pot holes..traffic pattern was kinda weird. In NYC we have alternate streets as one ways, so its easier to figure out the way but with toronto it's not the case. One thing I liked about toronto was the pace..even at 9 am..ppl were not rushing to work..NYC lo walkway mida nunchuntey chaalu..manalni nadipichesthaaru public liked the food options and bars in downtown toronto | ||

Nenu yekkuva down town surroundings lo oka 10 mile radius lo tiriga and I found out that most of the roads (Roads where signals are there) are 4 lane with 2 lanes per direction....sare 2 lanes unnay kada GOOD anipisthadi but....Signal lights lo LEFT turn ki green arrow ledu most places lo and left turn vaadu stright ochhe valla ki yeild ani aagi pothadu! Sare nanaa kastalu padi right lane ki osthe...aa lane lo PARKING allowed most places and yevado aada bandi aapi poyi untadu!! Chiraku puttindi! Also road quality BAD! If it is some developing country asala thread yesede ledu....but DEVELOPED country with very very very less population! And TOP City in the country....not impressed!
