EMC, good for you. If you know java well, you should feel right at home. Some key points to master: 1) There is no garbage collection. So, you need to clean your objects. free() is important. 2) You need to understand pointers and references. *ptr and ptr. **ptr. This is the single most hurdle ppl will give up that language. 3) There is no bounds checking. memcpy, strcpy functions merrily corrupt the data. 4) Stack space vs Heap Space. Avoid Globals like plague. 5) Linking is a nightmare. They have all kinds of build processes. K&R is all what you need.
