What is the best way to open NRE from US?(the funds are emergency funds). instead of sitting in bank here with 0.025% interest, if i want to deposit in NRE and wire them back if needed. |

999:How do I withdraw money from NRE account in US?
Ask the bank where your NRE account is the procedure to withdraw in USD. One of the options I know is they send a check to you. |

NRE - U can deposit Dollars only...U cannot deposit rupees in this account... - You deposit in dollars, but funds will be converted to rupees in account. When you want to repatirate they will convert back again. |

King:suppose I move funds from NRE to third party account and can I deposit the money back into nRE in rs and then repatriate?
No, because u cannot deposit rupees in NRE u have to deposit that money in Nro, then repatriate....(which is tough and needs rbi paperwork)...or transfer from Nro to Nre and then repatriate |

Ipad:we can open both
there is a difference. U may not have disclosed about other a/c while opening another. Desam lo vunna loop holes tho 'u can' open any account. usa lo vundi india lo resident a/c kuda open cheyochu. BUT can you do it legally or not is another topic. Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresea, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein |

call chesi bank valla chevulu korikesaa....plus google...chala mandi confuse chesaar...ippudu clarity vachindi naaku........will post complete info.. NRE and NRO accounts can be current or savings or FD...i will not talk about "Fixed Deposit" accounts here NRE - U can deposit Dollars only...U cannot deposit rupees in this account... NRO - U can deposit Dollars or Rupees... NRE - Funds are freely repatriable..whatever dollars u deposit in this account, u can bring them back... NRO - previously NRO funds are non repatriable...but RBI has changed the law recently...so NRO funds are repatriable upto 1 million....but repatriation from NRO account is much tougher...lot of paperwork.. Repatriable - retrieving funds that u deposit in these accounts, back to us currency... another important recent development --- previously transfer of funds was allowed from NRE to NRO, but not the other way...again, rules have changed recently....and U can transfer funds from NRO to NRE...i think this is a significant development....endukante, if u sell a property in India, u can deposit those rupees into your NRO account (as long as the money is "thelupu"), then transfer them to your NRE account and u can move that money here... so, it is better to open both nro and nre...that will give u lot of flexibility
