An Indian man has pleaded guilty to charges of visa fraud and money laundering in U.S. District Court in Wilmington.

The U.S. Attorney Delaware District Office says that between March 2007 and September 2010, 45-year-old Srinivas Doppalapudi, a permanent legal resident, submitted 33 fraudulent visa applications. During this time, prosecutors say Doppalapudi wire transferred over $1 million from his business accounts in this country to an account in India.

Doppalapudi is being held without bail, and will be sentenced in September. The government is asking for him to be deported when he’s sentenced.
