for $400, you get an SSD! this is worth atleast $150. Then it is 1 lb lighter and thinner. I will give $100 for that! So you are getting retina for $150 If you have any inkling for doing movie related work, graphics related work, retina makes a lot of difference professionally. otheriwse, the pictures will be so real, the screen wont look too shabby even 10 years from now. You can display some food, feel like licking it. its that bloody real. the picture attains some depth. dunno where it gets that. Firstly, I do not hate Windows. I am just not crazy about it. Their best flavor is Windows XP. Win 7 is close. Rest all are intermediate versions. I do not like the learning curve they introduce between the versions. For ex. where is Fdisk in Win 7? Where are styles in Word 2007? The Apple haters worldwide seem to be consumed by a passion of intolerance. Like maveric says, it's a cutting. hell, no.. Just make some time, step over to best Buy and try the Apple products and see how they feel. Then you decide whether you like them or not. If you ask me why I like Apple, it is for the following reasons. - good value for money. when you buy macbook or iMac, it goes on and on. They run like new forever. - they are beautiful. for me this is important. i do not like bad designs. I like the way iMac sits on my table. unencumbered. there is a reckless freedom around it. no cables. tilts with the slightest force but stays the same for years. they are extremely quiet. extremely cool. - iMacs double up as a great tv. I work on an imac and cool off watching a movies on the same device. the screens are just so incredibly high quality. the colors are so real. - integrate extremely well. try configuring a network printer in Vista. Try the same in iMac. You cannot actually try, it will be already there! - Unix shell. If you are a software guy, unix shell is very useful. extremely powerful. vim, grep, find, ssh, telnet, ps etc are very useful to get by. - Apps - try KeyNote for Power Point! If you like Graphics or Music work, try using those apps. Even simple stuff like Stellarium, Acquarium just rock. Garageband is another thing. iMovie, iPhoto, QuickTimePro, Final Cut etc - performance. on the same specs, apple runs much faster. windows just consumes so much of resources for its own use. Try searching for a file in windows using file manager. do the same in Finder. I guarantee you, it blows away your socks. Try deleting 5000 files in Windows and do the same in Mac. I bet mac will be way faster. Try backing up a disk. same thing. - Ergonomy. I donot know what it is, the PC keyboard are too noisy, too sloppy, there is not exact tactile feedback. Use theMac keyboard or mousepad. you will see the difference. - first with latest stuff. get rid of DVD and make it light. Use SSD and extend battery power and unit life, retina Displays for stunning movie and graphic work. Do you know how much it means to a movie editor to be able to edit his work on a retina display? or for a graphic designer. - Security used be a big benefit, but I believe windows is more secure than mac right now, I do not dispute that. - Fonts - fonts fonts fonts. mac got fonts and colors and pictures and movies and moves and smiles and hugs and love. I love my mac. have to go and hug it now! simble reason i dont use Mac is that cant rip it every so often. install the crappiest OS available and play with it. naa system lo every few months ki different OS run avutha untadhi. I cant play so much with MAC. its too painful. Rebel bro, I can understand it if I was watching HD videos or something processor intensive.. all I was doing was playing reading eenadu or playing fruit ninza (not hd version).. even when my chinnadi plays games, I feel corner left getting warm which was uncomfy - atleast to me.. not to mention the weight. overall, I am not satisfied.. anyway, will visit the apple store today for the wifi issue.. thanks for the lead. | ||

Annai i used to think the same way when i did not use MAC .. but after using the MAC it is so efficient in what it does 1) For example let's take the SWIPE controls which is very user friendly and if u ask me yes there are the same gestures in the PC's also .. But MAC has the usability advantage .. If you drive your car only work to office then Kia will suffice. You dont need camry or bmw. It all depends on usage. Also if you prefer aesthetics, mac is the one. Look at MS Office for windows and mac. Which one you think have a great feel and look? Somehow you may feel good working on a mac. for very simple reason. Mac never crashes on you like PCs. I had PCs before, where I have to reformat at least couple times in its life. I am using iMac since 2006, never have to do any thing. still going strong. recently hard drive died and the mac store installed new one on same day and installed new OS. charged only for the hard drive. great service overall. | ||

adopting anew OS has never been challenging to me...just now jumped ship from android to Windows 7.5 OS....i use both simultabeously...android 2.3 on my captivate , android 4.0 and web OS on my HP touchpad and now windoes 7.5 on lumia.... using a mac is like driving a land rover 4X4 from airport to your house...is there any use for the facilities it gives no because u are not using it for the intended purpose | ||

Before PC, it was mac. It was apple who came up with dekstop concept. So all those users always prefer mac to pc. My manager who is fifty has the mac style setup on his pc for task bar etc. Mac also is less prone to virus attacks and more stable environment. Avg. mac hardware lasts 6 years and you can still get some value off it in secondary market. A PC performance usually goes below par after 3 years. On long term, you are spending more on PC. Comparison baledu annaru, but still going back. I would buy (already did) a used bmw/audi for $20K than a new Accord anyday. Again, it has nothing to do with brand. It's just the performance of luxury vehicles is much better over longer periods. | ||
