Pochamma is tribalistic form of Goddess Durga worshipped as the form of Shakti. The goddess is adorned with pasupu, kumkuma and little jewelry like mukku pudaka.

The temple is usually adorned with paintings and figurines of tiger (her vahanam), snakes (symbolizing her power over nether regions) and heads of slayed rakshasas. Modern paintings include kodi punju and processions.

Typical ritual includes
- Cleaning the temple premises
- Fresh muggu with pasupu
- Abhiskeham with water and vepa chettu leaves
- Adorning the statue with pasupu, kunkuma
- Samarping cheera, blouse piece
- Ladies put turmeric on cheeks, kumkum on forehead. Males get bottu too..
- Followed by simple puja and prostrating
- Getting fresh punju and feeding it Kallu, till the punju shakes its head
- Cut punju and leave head and bellam annam and putnala pappu + bellam for goddess (similar to bonalu)
-Cut lef, wing and tie to nearby raavi chettu or vepa chettu
- Go home and cook the punju, eat, drink and be merry..
