Looks like the IRS limit is 17k per year... mamam thammudu, you have to pick a diversified mutual funds. first you pick which finds have no load, if possible. then you split the money atleast 4 ways. then pick a technology fund (nasdaq), then one international fund, one value fund (dow) and one contra fund. not all will have a contra fund, fidelity has one. contra fund means, when everything goes down, it will go up, and when everything goes up it stays the same or slightly goes down. if you dont have a contra fund, you can pick a precious metal fund.
