These are the days when story writers and directors are finding it difficult to weave a story for a single character, Paruchuri Murali takes two steps ahead and creates three heroes, not a new phenomenon but as long as there is variation and a different dimension a drama becomes reasonably engaging. Here in Adhinayakudu, after a point you run into a risk of getting confused and instead of going with flow, the emphasis is on recollecting who's who..the son, the grandson? Adhinayakudu does have a story, a family drama with a political angle interspersed with romance. The director choses Rayalaseema as his ground where the action unfolds, dialogues turn panegyric and characters are eulogised, the importance, the characteristics of Rayalaseema and Seema people are stressed more than once. The only plus point of the film is the dialogues..all political in nature and instantly makes the audience feel that they are listening to a political speech at an election rally. The fans would instantly connect to it, the ego of the allies would be satisfied but for people who come to the theatre to seek entertainment it just ends as another clichéd entertainer. What works for the film is the timing of the release though it has been stalled for a long time. While Balakrishna slips into his role effortlessly in the first two characters as grandfather and son, the third gets agonising. It takes some courage for people other than fans to watch their idols dressed in ill-fitting costumes and a name called Bobby or errr is it Baabi that suggests that it is some youth who just crossed his twenties. The sweaters and woolens..when have people in Andhra Pradesh started stocking such material? To give some freshness to the story, this time it is not the heroine under the shower, Lakshmi Rai peeps into the bathroom, her intention is noble though..she is trying to spot a mole on him that is not at an appropriate place. Well, if that is amusing, Lakshmi Rai's expression isn't, it takes another dialogue to understand what she meant to convey. Kasi Viswanath is refreshing and shines in that two minutes, Brahmanandam shows how tired he is with the kind of roles he is being asked to portray. Lakshmi Rai looks jaded. The fans will love the film anyway and for others in Paruchuri Murali's visual expression..it's a film for the aliens by the aliens. -Cinegoer.com adholanti nayak ani seppindi ga akkai Maa cinema collection ATHYADHIKA kotlu .. maave genuince collections |
