The rift between the two party stalwarts over the BJP's top job to the forefront yet again came out in open on Thursday after Advani targeted Nitin Gadkari in his blog. In an apparent attack on BJP president, Advani in his latest blog took on Gadkari slamming the party the way it handled Jharkhand and Karntaka crisis. READ: ADVANI'S FULL BLOG HERE Without mentioning Gadkari in his blog, Advani criticised Gadkari's role in taking crucial decision during the Jharkhand and Karnataka crisis. In his latest blog dated May 31, Advani has expressed his displeasure over the party’s campaign against corruption saying the mood of the party is not upbeat. "The mood within the party these days is not upbeat. The results in Uttar Pradesh, the manner in which the party welcomed BSP Ministers who were removed by Mayawati ji on charges of corruption, the party’s handling of Jharkhand and Karnataka – all these events have undermined the party’s campaign against corruption," Advani wrote in his blog. "I had said at the Core Group meeting that if people are today angry with the U.P.A. Government, they are also disappointed with us. The situation, I said, calls for introspection," Advani wrote. Advani's blog assumes significance since the rift between the two party leaders have come out in open for the second time. Recently, Advani had skipped the BJP National Meet held in Mumbai as he was peeved over the increased influence of RSS. It was believed that Advani was unhappy with Nitin Gadkari getting second term as BJP president with RSS backing. |
