 Character actress Jayalalitha, who was once better known to the Telugu film audience as a vamp, has decided to try her luck in politics, obviously due to dwindling chances in politics. Jayalalitha on Monday joined YSR Congress party of Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. She was formally admitted into the party by Jagan’s uncle and party’s central committee member Y V Subba Reddy by offering her the party scarf. She said she was inspired by the ideals of late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and hence was joining the YSR Congress. “He was a true symbol of Telugu culture. And I am very much impressed by his stature. Secondly, I was also inspired by my co-actor Giri Babu who also joined the party a few days ago. I hope to get an opportunity to serve the people with this party and I will strive for the development of the party,” she said. One does not know whether Jayalalitha will have any utility value for the party.
