Just back from theater.. Phew. As a mass masala lover - my verdict is GO AND WATCH DAMMU in theater. The movie is made with a decent story line. The taking is good. Positives: NTR. Kurrod blood ettadu. Action scenes are riveting. First half is slightly better than second half. Vasi reddy and vastu songs are my picks. Ruler was funny with forced costumes. Nazar and Kota did their roles well. Bhanupriya is wasted. So is Suman.. Ali and bemmi comedy is okay. Some double meaning stuff got me cracking. Pakkana kokunna aunty bhaya padindi.. kiki Negatives: Heroines are only for eye candy. Choregraphy is medicore. With a dancer of Jr caliber, people expect better. Trisha is passable. Karthika is gaudy. She needs to town down on makeup.. For me the second half is as good as the first half, sans the "climax". Kudos to director and story writer for coming up with a toned down but sensible climax. But narukudu nandamuri fans would want more.. so did I. Anyway brownie point for alternate ending. Dammu should be the big hit NTR is looking for and it has all the ingredients to be one - provided the fans accept the effort NTR to make one. 3.5/5 I am struck by the lightning of love and burnt beyond repair - Florentino Ariza |
