While interrogating gangster M. Bhanu Kiran, arrested on Saturday, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) claims to have found that Bhanu and his boss whom he killed in January last year, Anantapur faction leader Maddalacheruvu Suri, had made Rs 200 crore in the Handri-Neeva irrigation project by taking contracts and sub-contracts in benami or surrogate names Bhanu and Suri invested the money they earned through extortions, in the irrigation project in Anantapur district and made a killing. âSuri and Bhanu diversified their activities. They made around Rs 200 crore in this project.
