$CLNE Nancy Pelosi's ownership of a substantial interest in Clean Energy Fuels Corp. is a matter of public record because she disclosed it on her financial disclosure report. Pelosi owns stock in the company worth $50,000 to $100,000. Clean Energy Fuels Corp. stands to be the biggest beneficiary of passage of the Nat Gas Act now before Congress. http://washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/editorials/2012/03/pel osis-conflict-interest-natural-gas-bill/361941 all opinions expressed here are mine.. |

obamiya on Natural Gas..... 01/27/2012.. President Barack Obama spoke yesterday at the UPS Depot in Las Vegas, Nevada promoting natural gas-fueled trucking as part of his "Blueprint for an economy that’s built to last," unveiled at his January 24 "State of the Union" address to Congress, according to Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (Nasdaq: CLNE - News), the leading provider of natural gas fuel for transportation in North America. In his remarks, President Obama proposed several federal initiatives favoring the use of natural gas for transportation, including getting more natural gas vehicles on the road using federal fleets and helping local governments upgrade their fleets, offering new tax incentives to help companies buy more clean trucks, working with the private sector to help develop natural gas fueling stations between cities for more natural gas corridors along our highways, and launching a competition to encourage new breakthroughs for natural gas vehicles. all opinions expressed here are mine.. |

For Westport, a company that converts gasoline-burning engines to run on natural gas, the bounty to be paid on such a conversion is amazingly high right now, and that translates into huge margins. A recent report on CNBC says the average light-truck conversion will run around $9,000, with larger-diesel engines running significantly more. But with the huge disparity in natural-gas prices and gasoline or diesel fuel (in some cases $2 a gallon), the costs from converting can be recouped possibly as quickly as one to two years for business operators. That doesn't even factor in the environmental benefits of burning natural gas as opposed to gasoline, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 20% to 29%. Westport is the one lone unprofitable company on this list of five green stocks for your portfolio, but with the company projected to grow by 38% over the next five years, and with high-profile partnerships in place with Ford, General Motors, and Cummins, profitability isn't very far off. all opinions expressed here are mine.. |

Parent Westport's losses continue to grow, even as its CWI joint venture becomes more profitable, notes analyst Jason Zandberg of PI Financial in Vancouver. Zandberg, who has a Sell rating on the stock, doesn't expect Westport to break even until 2014. "Westport hasn't had a problem getting capital to spend, but they have had an issue of getting a return on capital," he says. "I don't know how long that can go on." The company hasn't made a dime of profit since going public in 1997. "They have to generate a profit sooner or later," the analyst adds. all opinions expressed here are mine.. |

Perhaps more important, on Feb. 20, the President's Day holiday in the U.S., Westport announced that its CWI agreement was amended to allow Cummins to go it alone outside North America on natural-gas-fired 5.9-12 liter medium-duty engines. Previously, CWI had a global agreement. These changes aren't good news for Westport, which isn't expected by most analysts to make a profit until 2014. In the nine months ended Dec. 31, revenue rose sharply to US$227 million from $148 million in the 12 months ended March 31, 2011. (Westport is changing to a calendar year.) But gross margins fell to 36% from 39%. Margins and prices could come under more downward pressure long-term if Cummins and Navistar, for example, can bring competitive and cheaper products to market. Even with a shorter year in 2011, Westport losses widened to nearly $46 million from $42 million. The per-share loss narrowed to 96 cents from $1 only because shares outstanding jumped 13% to 49.3 million. That share count has gone even higher, after a February offering of 6.325 million shares at $43.25, bringing shares outstanding to about 55 million. With the stock at $37.63, the new shareholders can't be very happy. all opinions expressed here are mine.. |

WPRT had and has the chance to go the SI technology route but chose not to. They know their HPDI tech is much better and won't waste their resources with this. Therefore, cummins is scraping for their own niche in that small space that wouldn't be profitable to WPRT in a JV to be wasting resources on. WPRT knows they have the superior technology in HPDI and it will take Cummins till 2014 to even get it developed and out the door. Meanwhile, WPRT will have signed everyone w/ the superior technology that's already in production. all opinions expressed here are mine.. |

in addition to it..... read the below: Right now, the United States is undergoing a natural gas boom. The U.S. now has enough gas reserves to last more than a century. I'm sure you've read the stories about record low unemployment in places like North Dakota, as producers rush in to profit from this newfound energy source. In fact, we have so much of this resource that there have been known cases where companies are giving it away because of lack of storage. Prices are below $2 per mmBTU - that's the lowest they've been in a decade. Government statistics conservatively estimate 2 million moderate to heavy duty vehicles (class 5 - 8) operate in the United States. Industry experts assume 30%-40% of the class 5-8 trucks are considered high mileage vehicles. A high mileage vehicle is defined as traveling more than 80,000 to 160,000 miles (or more) annually. These are the trucks that will benefit significantly by utilizing lower cost fuel. all opinions expressed here are mine.. |

$WPRT lost $60 million last year, but grew revenue more than 80%. You see, it makes low-emission engines and fuel systems for light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks that use natural gas as an energy source. It is estimated that the average long-haul truck that drives 120,000 miles per year at 5 miles per gallon could save $46,000 a year on fuel costs by switching over from diesel to natural gas. This equates to billions of dollars in savings each year. When you realize that garbage trucks and cement trucks get two miles to the gallon ... you can see where it would be worth it to switch over.} all opinions expressed here are mine.. |

earnings transcript from CEO: For SanDisk, our first quarter results were impacted by 2 key factors: greater-than-expected price decline; and slower-than-expected demand for mobile cards from certain OEM customers with whom we have high shares. all opinions expressed here are mine.. |

$WPRT $WPRT know their HPDI tech is much better and won't waste their resources with this. While Cummins remains an important partner, Westport has long indicated it is moving beyond this 11 year old JV, having more recently signed agreements with Volvo, General Motors, Ford, Navistar, Caterpillar, Weichai, Shell and others. In addition, we believe Westport’s proprietary HPDI technology, which we suspect it is careful about licensing out, is superior to SI technology. Note that WPRT has access to both, but prefers HPDI. all opinions expressed here are mine.. |

AMRN PT raised to 22 by JPM. It had a 10% pop, but I am sure JPM is the biggest short in it too. All institution stocks are revised down today. MSFT went up today.. Ustad:Brought some Apples @ 575.50
I was tempted to pick 10. but didn't get the trend. what is happening is all institutions are revising the targets up while shorting the stock. Goldman revised the PT to 750, I am sure they are the biggest shorts on the symbol. what can we do..
