Meenakshi Thapar, 26, was allegedly kidnapped and beheaded by two fellow actors she met on the set of her latest film, Heroine. Amit Jaiswal, 36, and his lover Preeti Surin, allegedly decided to kidnap Ms Thapar after listening to her boast about her family's wealth and status in Dehra Dun, in the Himalayan foothills of northern India. They allegedly invited her on a trip with them to Gorakhpur, a small town close to India's border with Nepal and known for its Buddhist temples, where they held her hostage and sent a message to Ms Thapar's Nepali parents demanding 1,500,000 Rupees (£18,000). According to police, her 'fellow actors' warned her mother they would force her daughter to take part in ••••••••••• films if their demands were not met. Her mother paid 60,000 Rupees (£730) into her daughter's account for her kidnappers to withdraw, but she was allegedly killed soon after. She was strangled to death, beheaded, and her body was dumped at two different sites as her killers made their way back to Mumbai. Her torso was dumped in a water tank and her head thrown out of the bus window in a bag on the road to Mumbai. Jaiswal and Surin were later caught in possession of Ms Thapar's mobile phone SIM and confessed to the murder. According to police, the couple had fled to Mumbai from their home in Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh, after Jaiswal's wife discovered their affair. They had moved to India's film city hoping to find stardom in its Bollywood studios. "We are still investigating the case and both the accused along with a police team are visiting the crime spot. We have yet to recover the body. "They wanted to extort money from her family. They have confessed to the crime. She was strangulated in a hotel and her body was hacked into pieces and thrown in a water tank. They threw her head from a moving bus while travelling back to Mumbai," a detective leading the inquiry told The Daily Telegraph. Detectives said they had recovered her body after being guided to the site by the alleged killers, but they have yet to find her head. | ||

Srinivas Girik-anth,48, was an instructor at the Manhattan Review coaching centre in Himayatnagar. His body was recovered from near BITS PILANI, Shamirpet. During the investigation, police established that the woman, A.Vasanthi, 39, masterminded the heinous act. Vasanthi and Srinivas got married in 1994 and have two sons aged 16 and 10. A former techie, she bought a car and appointed a driver, Chaitanya Varma, 23. She developed an affair with him. Varma continued as the driver even after she quit her job four years back. Gradually, as the husband grew suspicious of the relationship, he objected to it, but the wife refused to part company with the driver. âShe hatched a plan to eliminate her husband and her paramour also knew about it. Vasanthi hired a three-member gang of Atish, Krishna, and Ranjith Kumar and offered them Rs 20 lakh, saying she would give the full amount when she gets money from a âchitâ involving Rs 40 lakh. The gang was paid an advance of Rs 15,000,â police said.  |
