There are several versions, the one I bought is this: http://www.asitis.com/ The reason for buying this was, this particular version was attempted to be banned in Russia, so I bought the very version as a token of protest. It's a good book, well printed, bound hardcover, you would love it. I read a few chapters, then lost steam, because of lack of time. I will restart it sometime. I over committed my Q1 time (Sat day classes, new job, some pending work from old job etc), will start again in Q3. I am reading in English. Vocabulary is at medium level, but a lot of it is Sanskrit written in English script. Cannot give you advice on diet/drink, I am not a Brahmin (update your Excel fast), but tend not to read it when I eat non-veg stuff. What also thought is, reading is one thing, and writing it back for other accurately is another thing. One or two guys pointed out some minor stuff, got me upset initially, but in spirit of the Bhagavadgita took it positively and worried that I might convey the idea incorrectly, which is a major factor in discontinuing it. as for targets, good to read it entirely atleast once in life time with the intent to internalize it. After all, it is our religious hymn, so don't want to die like a total luddite. If you have an hour commute, listen it on tape, it may workout better. my commute is < 10 min, so its not an option. idhivaraku there was a thread from you regarding bhagavadgita. are you still reading it? bhagavadgita telugu lo chaduvuthara or english lona? english lo ayyithe vocabulary too much vuntundha? my problem is I am a meat lover and drink alcohol (once in a while). complete gaa ivi maaneyyali ante kashtam. assala gita chadavatam ante enti? are there any targets? |
